Q: What is hypnosis?
A: Hypnosis is a natural state of human consciousness that involves focused attention to the extent that one may lose conscious awareness of peripheral stimuli. It is akin to becoming so engrossed in a book or a film that one may be unaware that he or she is being addressed by someone else or that other sounds or stimuli are present in their environment.
Q: What is hypnosis used for?
A: Hypnosis can be used for a number of non-medical issues, to include: PTSD, anxiety, depression, smoking cessation, self-esteem, stuttering, enuresis (bed-wetting), concentration, stage-fright, phobias and fears, self-sabotage, pain management, relaxation, insomnia, weight-loss, eating disorders, ADD, ADHD, ODD, anger management, addiction, decision-making, and the list just keeps going.
Hypnosis is a wonderful (and PROVEN) "adjunctive" therapy to modern medical and psychological practices.
Q: Is hypnosis "mind control"?
A: NO! It is exactly the opposite. One could argue that the subject is given greater control during hypnotic states; as is evident in overcoming habits.
Q: Will I be unconscious during hypnosis?
A: No. You are absolutely conscious during hypnosis. The experience is very similar to an intense daydream.
Q: Will I remember my session?
A: That depends on the person. Some remember everything. Some remember bits and pieces and some don't remember a thing! Everyone's experience can vary. That's why Axiom Hypnosis records your session so you can listen to it again and again for reinforcement or to even satisfy curiosity.
Q: How many sessions does it take to see results?
A: That depends on the person, too. Most people respond within the first session. However, to ensure lasting results, Axiom Hypnosis provides a minimum of two sessions. We believe in coaching our clients through the process of change to further reassure them and encourage lasting results.
Q: Can I use hypnosis for multiple issues or habits?
A: Yes. Many people find that their habits are associated with other factors in their lives. You may use your sessions as you see fit.
Q: Can children be hypnotized?
A: Yes! Children make some of the best clients! They typically respond much faster than adults.
Q: Has the hypnotist attended any training or does he hold any certifications?
A: Yes! James Tigert is a certified clinical hypnotist with the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) and the American School of Clinical Hypnosis - International (ASCH-I). He is also required to undergo continuing education to retain his certifications. In addition, he holds a degree in psychology from an accredited university. Axiom Hypnosis was established in 2014.
Q: What if it doesn't work?
A: You have every reason to assume that it will. Results do vary from person to person but statistically speaking, hypnosis has been proven effective in multiple areas and as a valid non-therapeutic, non-medical treatment.
