So, last time I posted some stuff about "positive anchors". I wanted to write a little about what are known as negative tapes. I bet you know what I mean....stuff like, "I'm not good enough, I'm fat, stupid, no one likes me" yada yada. I'm willing to bet you've heard those words playing over and over again during different times in your life; we all have.
Some people have this ability to ignore those tapes. For those who are buying into the negativity, these people may irritate you...and I wonder why?
So, what's the secret? It's not ignoring the negativity, it's replacing that negativity with positive affirmations. Things like, "I'm a good person" or "Once people get to know me, they like me". Sounds simple, right? Well, it is.
Emile Coue was a French psychologist in the early 20th Century. He discovered that there were a number of "laws" that affected the human psyche and produced a publication known as "My Law". If you find it in print or on pdf, READ IT.
He found that if people were to replace the negative tapes with a positive affirmation [and repeated it], THEY GOT BETTER. In fact, he had them repeat, "Everyday, in every way, I am getting better and better." Oddly enough, the simple phrase has a remarkable affect on those who use it.
Repeated during that period of time just before falling asleep, the brain just happens to be susceptible to suggestion; just like in hypnosis. It's something that I have each of my clients do before sleep each night. Those who do, experience greater success in overcoming -whatever it is they want to overcome.
It's simple, just do the following as you're getting ready to fall asleep:
Close your eyes.
Breath deeply in through your nose and out of your mouth.
After each exhalation, repeat one time (while tapping your finger)
Everyday, in every way, I AM better and better.
You can replace that statement with anything that will replace those negative tapes, like "Everyday, in every way, I am happier and happier."
Continue to breath and tap each finger 10 times until all fingers have been counted.
Do that each night for 7 nights. I am willing to bet that you will begin to see a difference. But don't stop there, continue to repeat the exercise for different things throughout your life.
I am convinced and can testify to this method's efficacy. It works. Don't try it, do it! Believe in the results and that if others can, you can!
